Optical Networking Specialist
This diploma program is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining optical networking systems and troubleshooting Cisco optical networking products in Metro/Regional and Core environments. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates may be employed as Optical Network Technicians and may seek certification through the Cisco certification process to become a certified Cisco Optical Specialist.
Course Objectives:
Provide the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate and apply optical networking concepts and theories
Provide the knowledge and understanding of the functions, operations, and primary components of optical networks
Provide office stimulation and real-world projects as the assignments
Internship Opportunities:
The college has formed an agreement with a private industry business partner to provide internship opportunities for this program, as they become available, to students who have either graduated from this program or are progressing through the program requirements satisfactorily.
