This diploma program is designed to provide students with the necessary networking fundamentals to describe major components of a network system, describe the functions and operations of a network systems such as local area networks (LANS), metropolitan area networks (MANS), wide area networks (WANS), virtual private networks (VPNS), intranets, and extranets. Other learning skills include describing the function, operation, and primary components of remote access services, wireless technologies, and optical networking. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates may be employed as Network Technicians and may seek certification through the Cisco certification process and become Cisco Certified Network Associate.
Computer Networking
Course Objectives:

Provide the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate and apply Cisco based network concepts and theories


Provide the knowledge and understanding of the functions, operations, and primary components of various networks


Provide office stimulation and real-world projects as the assignments


Internship Opportunities:

The college has formed an agreement with a private industry business partner to provide internship opportunities for this program, as they become available, to students who have either graduated from this program or are progressing through the program requirements satisfactorily.
